Book Cover Design

I started my career in book publishing purely by accident—a happy accident. I applied to an ad in The New York Times as an assistant in an Art Department. The ad copy was pretty vague (which should have been a clue but I was young and inexperienced) and was from a head hunter. Fortunately, the job was in the Art Department a small New York book publisher, and I got the job. I got my foot in the door and I quickly moved to the marketing department and have been grateful since then for the start of what has been an amazing career.

I've been passionate about books my whole life and it was so exciting to learn about the book publishing business. Even though I originally focused on the marketing side, I've been lucky enough to design book covers as well. I like to think that I bring a holistic approach to book cover design, focusing not only on a book's visual appeal, but also on putting books into readers' hands. As a book cover designer, I act as a bridge between an author and the audience for their work. What's your story?
